L.I.D.A.R. stands for “longwave infrared detection & anomaly recognition”. We specialize in drone and hand-held thermography inspections. Thermal inspections utilize cutting-edge infrared cameras to detect thermal anomalies which aren’t visible to the naked eye. Thermal anomalies show up as hot and cold spots during thermal scans. These anomalies can be a number of things, such as moisture and energy loss. Water has a great thermal capacitance, which means, it has the ability to retain heat very well. This is critical when it comes to thermal roof inspections. The water that has leaked through a roof’s membrane will take on solar loading, or heat up, during the day and then release that energy back to the sky during the evening along with the dry portions of the roof. The parts with moisture will stay warm longer due to water having an higher thermal capacitance than the dry insulation, thus being visible as a different temperature to an infrared camera.
Whether you’re looking for a general qualitative scan, or if you’re looking to have a complete quantitative drone solar panel inspection done, we have you covered. We are classroom trained in thermal drone inspections, knowledgeable on current techniques, and have extensive background and experience to deliver valuable information that will help save you money immediately!
We use industry specific standards as recommendations on all thermal drone inspections. The following are an example of industry standards utilized: ASTM C1153, IEC TS 62446-3, SNT-TC-1A, FERC, & More.

We also have a DJI Mavic 3T in our fleet and both drones come equipped with 640x512 high resolution thermal cameras. Providing us with more than enough pixels on target to get any inspection job done!
We also have a FLIR CX-3 hand-held thermal imager used for insulation deficiency scans and interior moisture inspections. We employ anemometers to check wind speed and humidity on all thermal scans and utilize pyranometers to verify solar irradiance on all solar inspections.
We also employ the industry leading DJI Mavic 3 Enterprise drone with mechanical shutter to provide the clearest mapping pictures available! Combined with the DJI RTK module and ground station, we can provide you with centimeter level accuracy on all your project needs!
Last, but not least, we utilize our DJI Air 2S for most of our video and photography missions. Have some marketing you need done, or maybe some hunting show b-roll? We got you more than covered!
